Had the slides sent to what I thought was going to be JHU, but as it turns out they went to a place that starts with a capital B out of Memphis TN. Results were nearly the same regarding Gleason & grade groups. Only differences were the %age's of tissue involvement and they were close. They evidently are highly regarded, but I know JHU is always the recommendation. You think I ought to get a third from Epstein?

Bostwick Labs in Memphis? You're good. David Bostwick & Jon Epstein are the two giants in the field of prostate pathology.

Yes Jack, that's the one. I guess my only concern is the suffixes he used; MD & MBA. With the money tree attached to Doctors, I gotta think that one with a degree in business will know how to pick the tree clean.

hahaha...I have an MBA, so maybe you should take what I say with a grain of salt, too! (along with all other info on the internet)

Yes, medicine is a business. In fact, dual-degree MD/MBA programs are on the rise and are attracting some of the brightest stars in med schools today. (Unfortunately, Bostwick did run into some "business problems" just a few years ago which led to declaration of bankruptcy, and a lawsuit, followed by an acquisition by Poplar Healthcare; today Bostwick Laboratories is a division of Poplar, and Bostwick is Chief Medical Officer as well as genitourinary pathologist.)

Bostwick, despite his business problems, is a giant...his name (along with Epstein's) is all over the literature. His book "Urologic Surgical Pathology" is the legend.

If Bostwick labs gave you a 2nd opinion you are good as gold. Not nessasery to get another opinion.

Thanks for the input. BTW, I can use AAM after my name. Accredited Automotive Manager and can say, like my Urologist, I've had my hands (sometimes both at once) in a number of rear ends.

Norm, consider taking a break from the forum. There’s a lot of guys with ED here. Has it occurred to you that your repeated sexual innuendos may not be helpful?

No, quite the contrary…it is helpful to newcomers who are uncertain about what the future may bring to receive guidance, feedback and/or shared experiences of others who “have traveled—and successfully navigated—the road before them.”

Those who have read lots of posts here from the past have seen some men hesitant to even discuss/confront the possibility that they might have PC simply because they have heard that all treatments will strip-away their ability to have sex for the rest of their lives. PC overtreatment—with men losing sexual abilities when they never even needed PC treatment—has given PC a “bad name.” Of course, the first feedback we should give them is to help them make the decision if treatment is needed at all. But secondly, we can offer a reassuring voice that while it’s true that most men do have some diminished erectile functionality, with the help of modern medicine that can be largely restored in most cases…one way or another.

My focus is on the newcomers.

One more note for mattmax...I do indeed write, as I mentioned, primarily for the newcomers, but the HW/PC veterans can also learn the key message that sexual relations may need to be "re-defined" after PC treatment.

My comment above does NOT infer any specific method, and indeed could easily be universally applied—by using a little creativity—by someone with ED with their loving partner. Dr John Mulhall at MSK is the leading expert in post-RP sexual recovery; besides trying the medical approaches, his message is clearly about "re-defining."

I hope that you'll benefit by reading this sampling of relevant articles which all talk about "redefining" relations after RP:

I edit my own comments all the time. I am afflicted with the awful vice of reading my own text to bask in the golden words. Occasionally I find a phrase or two that seems to need a bit more burnishing and I edit. But I don't use color tags to make the "edited" notice invisible. If people can't see that I have changed what I said how will they know that it is even better now and they need to read it again? -- PeterDA
