My worry is if one has to take the drug when one plans having sex without it been able to cure the dysfunction after long usage. Any ideas of drugs that are likely to cure this type of dysfunction?
The PDE-5 inhibitors (the “erectile dysfunction drugs” as you have called them) are not a “cure” for the cause of the dysfunction, but they are a “solution” for the management of the condition which you have as a side effect of your PC surgery…and others have due (typically) to natural aging.
I also noted that you wrote this:

Took the pill an hr ago. Waiting to see the effect.
Don’t just sit around and wait for something to happen…! Adequate sexual stimulation is necessary for the desired effect, which is the enhancement of nitric oxide release leading to increased blood flow to the penis…and an erection. Just taking the pill doesn't cause an erection. Many of us (myself included) take the daily-dosage of tadalafil (cialis) so that we are ready "on demand," "as needed," or perhaps better said "as desired." You can also take other steps to improve your odds of success...take advantage of the mornings. For men our age, there's increased fatigue at the end of the day which limits spontaneous generation of nitric oxide. Add on top of that the liking that many of us have to a cocktail or two in the evening (or a cocktail and splitting a bottle of wine)...the alcohol, you may already know, can limit sexual performance. So, keep in mind that mornings are when your body's performance is at it's best. Do what my wife & I do: go to bed early, and set the (weekday) daily alarm clock 30 minutes early.
