minor urinary burning

I have some minor burning, not when I am super hydrated. Anyone else experience this? Had a urine test all normal. Denis

UTI, dehydration or drinking pure chilly sauce have caused that burning sensation in me.

Drink more water.

Sometimes the test doesn't detect an infection until it's really bad. Or as my doc suggested once - you feel the burning, schedule the appointment and it clears up before they get a sample.

I had occasional minor pain upon urination for about the first year after SBRT. Mine was most often noticed after a good workout at the gym, so possibly related to reduced hydration, possibly not. Could have been related to muscle activity on the elliptical machine, etc. It was never even bad enough to mention to the doc, though.

I really haven't noticed this for many months, so there is hope for you yet.

The way my Uro handled it was to give me a Lab order (good for up to 1 year) and some specimen cups. If I were to have persistent burning/painful urnination, I was to pee in one of the cups he gave me and drop it off at the lab. That way he would have a sample right a way. I never not got a chance to use it before the Lab order expired because the burning sensation never lasted for more than one or two visits to the toilet.

Thanks all, I do work out a lot and I drink a lot of water. RO has no answers referred me to Urologist. He mentioned scoping the urinary tract. I think I will wait a bit. I have added cranberry juice to my daily routine. It is more a minor annoyance than anything else. Also had a clear urine test. Denis

SubD, mine is caused from the radiation the urethra is inflamed and sensitive. Of course, I am only a month out from 44 zaps I have more of a ich which is similar to itchy eyes if you leave it alone it will go away. However my RO provided me an numbing agent which can be injected into the penis. I haven't used it yet, but nice to have available.

I never had any burning sensation on urination until I got the RP. It was pretty painful as soon as I woke up from surgery catheterized, it never went away, though it isn't as bad as it was 6 years ago. wink

I no doubt have some nerve damage from the surgery and radiation treatments, I suspect I will just have to tolerate it. Will likely continue to fade over time. smile

My RO prescribed Phenazopyridine (prescription strength) for urinary burning during my treatment. I finished up my 44 sessions one week ago and decided to try going off it over the weekend. No burning so I'm pretty happy. I do miss the bright orange urine, lol. I hear it is available over the counter in lower doses.
