Talking with my RO, I told him that sometimes I barely make it to the john and before I sit it's a coming out....
He told me it's called urgent stool....
So now my morning routine is to wait until I have had 3-4 BM's before I leave the house for fear of going in my pant's....

You just finished RT, right?

Yep, I had to go when I had to go. Not much margin for error.

When taking RT, urgent BM was common. Now after 2 weeks since my last session, pretty well back to normal.

But everyones situation is different.

Ah, the joys of this disease...With only 7 of 35 treatments under my belt I haven't experienced any side effects yet, but this wasn't one I was looking forward to. Glad to hear the recovery after RT is short.

Under the heading of 'we're all different', I wouldn't count on it.

Some reports of this issue taking years to correct itself, not starting until months or years after RT (mine started 3 or 4 months after RT ended), effective treatment being nonexistent, and rectal diapers becoming a way of life.

My RO calls it "immediate rectal urgency". So does my GI doc. Ain't radiation grand? ;)

Hmmm, radiation Summer 2015. It's still a major factor for me. So that's why.

I still have 9 treatments to go....
Usually when I tell a Dr. something I get the look, Like your weird, I'm glad there's a name for this, Not glad that I got it....
And definitely don't trust a fart....Thinking of keeping extra clothes in my truck..

I had surgery, then RT., completed around April or so 2016.

The urgency is still with me. 2 to 3 times to go before leaving for work.

Yes carry an extra set of draws every day and sleep in a diaper cause of a recent one time mess.

RT is the gift that keeps on giving

Urgent Stool sounds like the name of a bad hair band from the 80s. On a more serious note, I never had that SE from my radiation, but five years later I definitely have urgent urination. When I get the urge to pee, it's much more intense than it used to be. Oddly, on those occasions when I have the urgency but have no choice but to hold it? The extreme urge goes away. It's like the nerves are on high alert, but they can also be beaten down when needed...

One year out from SBRT when I need to urinate I also have the feeling that a bowel movement is on the way. When I am in the situation that it's either not possible or desirable to have a BM, when I need to pee, it can be a bit dicey.
As has often been noted "NEVER trust a fart".
