As a cribbage grand master and the best hand in cribbage is three fives and a jack in your hand with the fourth five turning on the cut that matches the suit of the jack in your hand. Point value of 29 which is the tops.

An engineer I worked with out of college had a penchant for assigning nicknames to everyone and used them so often that they stuck. I designed a piece of tunneling equipment called a “jumbo” so I became Mumbo to him. Still run into people once in a while that call me that from the ‘70’s.

Herophilus was a Greek physician and was most likely the first scientific anatomist. In any event, I spent like 2 weeks reading this forum when my PSA came back elevated. So when I chose my name I did a deep dive asking:
• who was the first person to successfully remove a prostate without the patient bleeding to death
• Who was the first person to figure out what the prostate did
• Who was the first person to describe the prostate, it was, with the best information that I had at the time

Three 5’s - Is it not better to be the dealer holding 4 - 5’s and have a Jack cut for the extra two points? Have not played in years but my feeble memory remembers it that way from playing with my Grandfather and father who knew the points of every hand without counting. Seems it was not the best hand for pegging points but never got one to find out.

MUMBO: The two points for the cut jack is not counted in the hand as you peg it immediately not when you count your hand. There is pegging and then there is counting. four 5's in the hand with a jack on the deck is worth 28. The highest hand possible is 29.
