Rising PSA Velocity and Biopsy

Hey everyone, I'm 65 and since 2013 I have had multiple Uro workups for microscopic hematuria, all negative for cancer.

My PSA's: 02/13-0.75, 02/14-0.85, 02/15-1.0, 02/16-1.25, 02/17-1.25, 02/18-2.50, 05/18-5.00, 08/18-3.85 and 02/19-6.85, DRE-always negative. I just had the biopsy done Thursday and get my results next Thursday.

So I don't overload my self, is it better to just wait until the results and then start with questions or let it sink in first and then start.?

I overreacted and started looking into options before even knowing the results of the biopsy! In retrospect I wish i’d Waited until the results were in before looking at options. But I’ve always been a chicken little kind of person. One good thing I did was reschedule the second biopsy to the day before I went on California vacation which was a good idea because I didn’t want the results to ruin my trip of a lifetime....

Welcome to HW.

Waiting is the hardest thing to do and waiting is what you must. Speculation at this point would be a waste of energy. You might have something, you might not.

Do something to distract your mind and let us know what the results are when they come in.

Z Man,

Welcome to healing well. May your stay be a short visit. There is no reason to worry about what you don't know you have. There are several things which could cause your PSA increase and PCa is only one of them. Until you have been diagnosed with the disease you shouldn't worry about the treatments or side effects. Try to relax and enjoy your self.

Well just got a call from the Urologist and all 12 samples were negative. I am breathing a sigh of relief and I am now scheduled for a yearly exam to monitor. Thanks for the support and I wish everyone well. I will be dropping by now and then since I like this forum.
