Six months with nothing serviceable so far with partial nerve sparing on right side, left side 100%. 10 years older than you so not too worried yet and it is less important in the greater scheme of things.

Age 70 now 5+ years later. Still dead as a door nail except with a shot(so so sucess), or a pump(hard as a rock, but zero fun), but I have not tried any of that other stuff (shots/pills/pumps) since about the 1+ year mark. Keep in mind my nerves were not spared. I'm sure it goes lot better for many who have nerve sparing.

I was only 53 and had nerve sparing and it took 16 months before pills worked a bit. By 20 months I had a 90% erection With levitra 20mg - unusable erection without. I then underwent SRT and three years later I am still 80-85% with levitra. I’m 59 and in good health. I’m generally satisfied, you have to be patient and realistic. I was led to believe I would be 90 percent without pills at 6 months but that is surgeon talk.

Also, I did everything possible in terms of penile rehab including injections and I had a willing thoughtful partner.

Best of luck. Total ED is a great price to pay for a cure in many cases of PC.

you're saying that like it's one or the other. I don't agree.

Just making the point that it happens more than people like to admit. I think RP will eventually go away. Just my opinion.

Nothing good to report from this side, either. 18 months from surgery now. At least I do not noticed size reduction or sensitivity loose. In matter of fact everything looks promising at its basic state but it does nor progress much from that point. I tried the pump a few times. It is hard while inside but it goes back to the usual state inmediately after it is out. And I find it cumbersome and boring. When I occasionally use Cialis or Levitra it looks more promising but that is all. Lately, I notice some new feeling there when I get mentally excited, maybe nervous connections are improving or maybe just wishful thinking. Something funny, I feel a slight hard when I stand up after sitting in a couch for a long time. From the professional point of view, I knew from other patients that my surgeon believes that there is not hope about this for anybody going to surgery beyond 65. I asked him anyway, and after a "it is very unlikely that you will make any progress" he consulted his "surgery notes" (I did not know he has private notes) and then he upgraded my hopes with a "maybe". All this is not a big trouble for my personal life, but it is somehow sad anyway. Of couse, I will keep trying.

RP and ART in 2012. Surgeon's notes said "some nerve sparing, mostly on the left." Two years ADT. Lots of pumping and trimix concurrent w/ ADT -- to prevent atrophy mostly. Finally decided venous leak too severe for trimix to be really effective. (Decent erection w/ trimix as long as I stood up. If I laid down, so did Mr. Unreliable.) Had inflatable IPP installed. Slightly odd but quite usable erections any time I want. Reasonably happy with my device.

Disagree that permanent ED is the price some of us have to pay for prostate surgery. There is a price to be sure, but we can chose the coin in which we pay it.

So, to summarize: No wood. Sad. But let me tell you about plastic.

I was having nighttime erections around 5 days after surgery, even with catheter was still installed.

My g/f had me having to concentrate on dead puppies with my cath still in.


Good with pills 3 years out. (“Maintenance” reasons only now....so still room for “RE-improvement”! 😀)

Nocturnal erections after 4+ months, spontaneous erections probably 5 + months, but like a large pimple vs small pimple, too short for anything-lost 2.5+ in from RALP. After 14 months still 1.5+ in shorter
Erection too short and insufficient hardness for intercourse. Viagra useless and Cialis not enough. VED ineffective

Before diagnosis Dave had no ED or urinary issues. It is about 9 months since RP (right nerves spared) and 2 months since ART. He has used Viagra, self- and wife-stimulation, and pump, but has had no success with experiencing an erection. Not even any firmness, except in the pump chamber, which kinda blew it up on one side only. He was not real amused.

Dave is understandably discouraged, but I know that nerves can be fussy and unpredictable. It was several years for me after ankle surgery before I could again wiggle my toes. So I think it's still realistic to be optimistic. We are so grateful he is alive, getting his energy back, and is 95% continent.

In the meantime, snuggling and nuzzling are very much appreciated.

Here is another unsuccessful restoration of sexual function.
Was 51 y/o at dx and surgery. 11/2/2016 RARP with bilateral nerve sparing.
I did extensive penile rehab with Cialis, Viagra, VED, TRIMIX, BIMIX with no or very limited success. I waited 22 months before I got penile implant.
For all this months, I never experienced the slightest sign of life from my penis, neither during the day nor at nights. At nights, sometimes I was having dreams I had erection but just to wake up to another disappointment. Manual stimulation never produced erection, just slight fullness as a difference.
Before surgery, I was excellent candidate to reach trifecta within 1 year of surgery according to my surgeon. Also, before RALP, never had any problems with erections and never before tried Cialis and Viagra, in very good health with no chronic conditions and was not on any meds.
I also lost 2+ inches of length and some girth.
Someone might wonder why I decided to get an implant at 22 months post RP?
Here is why. I was not ready to say goodbye to my sex life at 53, so I made decision to get IPP.
IPP gave me back my sex life. No regrets!
