Trimix,
Hello again, I wanted to ask you about your Avodart rx...what dosage were you given by your doctor? I read your prior threads and it all makes complete sense (the the re-connective blood supplies that take place during the healing process). After moving from <0.1 to 0.1 in Feb 2019, I stayed there until just recently (August 1st) when most recent PSA went to 0.2. MD Anderson RO, as well as local cancer center wants to begin radiation (that's what they do), my surgeon wants to wait/hold tight to see a trend. With my post surgery path report (which I posted on my July thread), I'm having a hard time believing a recurrence, especially after finding out about how benign tissue can remain even mo so, after robotic surgery and verve sparing surgery, which was my case. Do you have any additional links that you can refer me to on this, I'm always interested in reading more...thank you!
Hi Sunnydog- Here is an update on my situation....I have been on a yearly PSA test for some time and over the last 9 years it has risen very slowly....it has gone from.06 just after my RP to .4 last June.
I spoke with my urologist about
this and he still feels it is just my prostate tissue that he left behind and slowly growing in volume that is causing my PSA to slowly rise over time.
We decided that I would go back on Avodart for 30 days and see how it changes my PSA...if my PSA drops back down to .10 like it did last time I did this, it will confirm that there is no cancer, but just the tissue causing the slow PSA rise over time....
Just after a week, my PSA had already dropped to .30....the peak of the avodart effect will be at 90 days and I will post the results then.
Cheers,
Curt
