Hello, GMOOSE!
I am sending you my support, right now, as I write this.
I have also undergone TAXOTERE chemotherapy infusions --- they were given every three weeks, six total infusions, which covered a total span of eighteen weeks.
I'm truly hoping your doctors can find a way to adjust the dosage, add some extra time in between the infusions, change the formulation, or perhaps add a medication that addresses the heart issues you are experiencing.
My biggest challenge happened during the second infusion --- I suddenly went into acute allergic reaction to the TAXOTERE infusion. It had to be stopped immediately --- my oncologist came running --- and he stayed by my side the rest of the afternoon. In the end, he was able to introduce a Benedryl infusion first --- this overcame the allergic reaction response --- and I was able to then complete the series of chemotherapy treatments, with Benedryl infused first before the TAXOTERE.
The other thing they did, for my protection --- they slowed the infusion drip WAY DOWN, to protect me during the infusion. The process took longer, but this helped.
I wonder if your doctor can make inquiries to the manufacturers of TAXOTERE? I wonder if your doctor can consult with another oncologist, for solutions or ideas? Oncologists often have medical "networks" in place --- and are able to consult with other oncologists from near and far.
I truly, truly hope there is a remedy for this. I hope that other readers will have thoughts, ideas, or suggestions for you.
I'm sending you 100% of my SUPPORT right now, having also received TAXOTERE. Please take care of yourself, and let us know how you are faring.
Handshake, from "one brother to another brother" ~~~
