Psa from .03 to .1 in 10 days

Retest the PSA first. Lab errors happen and that's an unusually fast rise. It could just be a mistake.

Second, don't panic.

Third, if the number is confirmed, call the RO and take that next step.

and don't panic. Take each step as it comes. and don't give up - you've got plenty of treatment options left if this isn't just a wacky PSA test.

and did I mention: Don't panic?

they did 3 different blood draws to run 3 different tests? It still sounds like lab error.

I got nothing much to add, sounds like some fancy PET scans may be in order before anything else to possibly locate the PSA source given the rapid increase to 0.90? Good luck with your doctors visits.

According to my doctor pet scans only work if you’re at .2 or above. Thankfully I’m not there yet, but my big worry is having salvage radiation and then all the while the cancer was living somewhere else,

Hello Vistacal, about a month ago I made a post, since my father, after 10 years with his psa less than 0.1, in his analysis this year the value appeared at 0.17. His normal oncology made him repeat the analysis after 3 months to know if it was a timely rise or an upward trend. Well, my father did the analysis again after three months and his psa returned to normal with a value of 0.002. So first, you shouldn't do such analysis so often

btw, your immune system fights cancer cells daily. Maybe your last psa was in the process of fighting, and you must give a few months to see who is winning. For this reason, when the psa is so low, doctors ask for the repetition of the analysis in two or three months.

I think you should have repeated the psa in two or 3 months and in two different measurements to confirm a relapse. I think your psa will return to normal.

That's a reasonable concern. The psa may be coming from the prostate bed, in which case RT can be curative, or it might be from somewhere else, in which case it won't. At this point I think you have to assume that it's coming from the prostate bad, get RT, and hope for a cure. Anything else would be giving up on the possibility of a cure prematurely.
