For me, modesty hasn't been a concern. I think the gang showers in the army cured me of that. That said, my urologist is female who is fairly young and new in town. When I decided on RALP I wanted a larger facility and a doctor who'd done in the thousands and told her I was choosing Cleveland which, coincidentally, is where she did her training. She gave me the names of who she considered the best surgeons there. Since I have returned she's done all the followup and recently did the AUS installation which went very well.
Regarding the subject of "small hands," I am not being flip or humorous but when I was in Cleveland a newer doctor there, not the surgeon, did a DRE. She was a very petite Asian woman and while small hands might be an advantage, I had never experience a reach like that. No kidding, I thought it was at least up to the wrist so be careful what you wish for.
