Hi All. Just saw my latest psa and it was 0.027. Go to the doc Thursday.
I am happy its not a new high for me...0.028 was my high since it was detected.
But do you think I have anything to worry about since it went from 0.024 last time to 0.027 this time?
RP was about 4 years ago now. Had 1 open margin or less than 1mm.

Your psa seems pretty stable to me Tom.

Since your 6th test, your readings have been .02, .02, .03, .02, .03, .02 and now, .03. (Rounding off).

That third digit will change from test to test depending on a lot of things. (Time of day of test, hydration at time of test, machine error, etc). Don’t get fixated on that third digit.

If it’s bothering you that much, you might speak with an RO. You may find different opinions on whether to treat or not (I did). But, to me, it seems stable.

Great PSA numbers.

The only thing you have to worry about is worrying about that.

Third digit is noise. If you go from .03 to .05, you can worry.

But your numbers, like mine 10 years out are real good
A little bouncing around like that is perfectly normal. There are many papers on this.

So many things say it should be 0.00 so I never understand if its cancer cells or leftover tissue giving the reading.
But I do try and eat well, big green smoothie almost every day.
Been using CBD oil but not sure if that's for real or not.

Seems like another reason for not doing an ultrasensitive test. In my layman's opinion, from 0.024 to 0.027 is I would say statistically insignificant. Dont worry, Your good. You are a PSA level that 100 out of 100 patients would love to be at. Relax. JMO

My surgeon would be telling you to go have a drink and enjoy life. That's what he tells me, with similar numbers.

Wings….yes at first he was doing the test that went as low as 0.03, and he would tell me "Undetectable, all is great". If he were still using that test I would still be hearing that. But a year and a half ago when I went from 0.021 to 0.027, he had me meet with the Radiologist to get prepared for radiation treatment which freaked me out. Then it went back to 0.024 3 months later so he told me to hold off. Just hope by it going back to 0.027 now he doesn't bring it up again when I see him Thursday!
Big Tasty.....I noticed your numbers. You most recent a week or so ago was 0.033 and in 2018 you were less that 0.01 and them 0.014. Does your doctor give any reason for the small rise? The only reason I ask is so I can be better prepared should I see mine break the 0.03 barrier one of these days, and I don't panic. I noticed this with a lot of guys on here and they all seem fine with it.
The test results say that it is not considered recurrence until 2 consecutive tests show .2 or more, so I know I am a good distance from that.

I don't want to step on Big Tasty's answer. I'd like to hear his response as well.

What I do want to do is to say that it may be a bit of a stretch to say "I'm fine with it". There were many complications during my treatment. Only one of which, was a stricture. I take this into account when weighing whether or when to have SRT. Had I glided through surgery, I do not know whether I would have had more treatment yet or not. I'm just not rushing through the doors to zap this scar tissue. I've been very fortunate with this so far.

One thing seems clear. It's guys like us that have the most to lose by not having SRT. We're the one's with a higher probability of knowing where the PSA is coming from.

In my case (with the larger margin), I figure I've got a 1 in 3 chance of not ever needing more treatment. And that seems to jive with what the two RO's I have spoken with. But I also had a 3mm surgical margin. (with G6 on the margin). That's quite a bit larger than the very small margin you had.

My surgeon says the numbers are going to bounce at those low levels,and not to stress. If we see an upward rise constantly and get past .1 then it's time to do something. I am happy with that.

Island Time i also had a 3mm gleason 6 margin, and EPE , so that sort of adds to the stress, but for now, i wont think about it, until my next psa in 6 months, then ill stress a little.
