Just checking in with everyone...

It’s been 10 years since I was diagnosed with Gleason 9 PC and like 9 years since bone mets were found. Even still, I’ve been able to go on Intermittant Hormone Therapy (IHT). I had a f18 scan last Spring that show a spot on that same rib that lit up awhile back....so this time we zapped it 5 times and went on HT. PSA 3 months later showed undetectable and hopefully I can go back on another HT vacation shortly.

Thank you all for your support and information over the years. HW is and always has been a great place for knowledge and support.

Great report, congratulations

This is a great example of w we shouldnt pay an attention whatsoever to statistics. They are valid for large groups but not for the individual becase we are all dfferent.

That's excellent and quite encouraging for everyone else! Like someone else said, reading the statistics are pretty much a waste of time. I said to my dad's doctor that "once you get cancer in your bones you are lucky if you have 5 years to live." She just told me, "You're crazy!" She said half the stuff on the Internet isn't right anyway. I'm so happy to see that you are doing well!

11 Years for me with Gleason 9 and spinal bone met from the beginning. Startet iADT, but now leave intermittant and going for continues ADT. PSA still low: 0.014ng/ml. But it will not last forever, thats for sure.

Great news! I needed to hear this today! DH (G9) is 6 1/2 years from diagnosis with two spinal mets found about a year ago. PSA just went from 1.5 to 2.5 in three months. Your report is encouraging, probably more than you know!

That is great news. Glad you are continuing to do well. It is stories like yours that gives us hope and relieves maybe a little of the worry. I am 10 months post surgery so still think about it often. Thanks for sharing your post.

Congrats, Jerry, to you and all the other long-timers who have been checking in at year's end and reporting good news. A friend of mine's father was just diagnosed with G9 and I recommended the HW forum to her for encouragement. I hope she's lurking.
