COMMENTS:
The prostate gland contains five foci of prostatic adenocarcinoma, one in the transition zone and four in the peripheral zone. The dominant tuo focus(Gleason 3+4) is located in the left and right transition zone. This tumor focus measures 2.5 x 0.9cm is the largest cross-sectional dimension and it is present in the six prostatic cross sections and focally in the apex . In the left anterolateral surface, at a site of surface disruption and cautery artifact, extension of this tumor focus to the margin cannot be excluded. The second tumor focus is located in the left lateral and left posterolateral peripheral zone.This tumor focus measures 1.5x0.3cm in the largest cross-sectional dimension and it is present in one cross section. The third tumor focus is located in the right lateral periperal zone. This tumor focus measures .5 x .2cm in the largest cross sectional dimension and it is present in one cross section. The fourth tumor focus is located in the left lateral periperal zone. This tumor focus measures .2 x .1cm in the largest cross-sectional dimension and it is present in one cross section. The fifth tumor focus is locaged in the left osterolateral peripheral zone, This tumor focus consists of a few neoplatic glands adjacent to high grade PIN. It measures .1 x .1cm in the larges cross-sectional dimension and it is present in one cross section. Tumor foci #2-5 are confined to the prostae with negative margins.

Prostate and Seminal Vesicles- A specimen consisting of a prostate, attached right and left seminal vesicles and attached segments of right and left vasa deferentia.
The Prostate Gland (3.8 v 4.5cm, 26grams, pos fixation) has the usual shape. The soft tissue present along the posterolateral aspects of the prostate is scant and more abundant along the left side. Serial cross-sections after fixations do not demonstrate unequvocal carcinoma.
The seminal vesicles and segments of vasa deferentia are grossly free of tumor.

Thanks in the Shop, tumor number one was a concern about how close to the outside it was.

I agree with others, there is nothing there to be more worried now than before reading it. There is nothing suggesting they left positive margins, it just says that there is an area that cannot be checked by technical reasons. And the degree is close to optimal. PNI and tumor size are not usually taken in consideration for prediction. Next step: first PSA test. This path report indicates that it will probably be fine. Good luck.

You will have a long, prostate free, life and probably lots of uPSA follow ups, but not bad at all.

Looks like a solid report. Good chance you are one and done. And if you do experience BCR, the equivocal margin status is, paradoxically, a good thing, better chance that SRT works. But hopefully that never becomes an issue

GTO Guy, It looks like a pretty good report to me. Try not to fret over PSA testing. It will mess with your head if you let it. Heal up. Physical therapy with your little friend is not so bad.
