Star, I'll just comment on the slides and what you are getting is a load of cr*p. Sending slides to Epstein for a second opinion happens all the time: http://pathology.jhu.edu/department/services/secondopinion.cfm
This is too important for you to accept shoddy work or shoddy responses. Take control. Insist on speaking to your doctor not some second rate advocate that can't properly answer your question or follow your instructions.

I wrote to the patient advocate because we were getting nowhere with Dr. Ward’s nurse (the gatekeeper).
I expressed our frustration at not having received a response and explained that this was very important to us as it is a very serious upgrade.
I wrote back to him this afternoon and expressed more frustration at the ambiguity and explained in repetitive detail that “Part A” was the slide in question as that is the one with the upgrade. I really don’t give a darn about
Part J!
Furthermore, nothing in that reply indicates that it was re-reviewed for verification. It says the report was released in November. Our appt was Dec 16th. We were told that day that Dr. Ward had requested that they take another look but had not yet heard back from them.
I’m so very frustrated.
At any rate, the 4 slides are being sent back to GenPath next week and from there will be sent to JH. Hubby talked to local uro’s office this afternoon and they will be making the necessary requests.
