Hi, I’m sorry to read this but you are not alone
Last year about
this time my father had some symptoms that were puzzling gradually getting more significant i.e. headache, forgetfulness, sometimes he could not find words, so my first worry was dementia.
Made an mri in January 2020 and the diagnosis was a big mass 6x6,2 cm occupying temporal;occipital;perietal susceptive of Prostate cancer metastasis, I thought it is the end of all our fights 16 years . The day of his surgery was also the birthday of my daughter, it was the worst day I have lived by now. But there is a light believe in that!
Depending on the size and
location there are few options either classic craniotomy or gamaknife get informed. Then a whole brain radiation if they think it’s necessary, for my dad it was.
He had a classic craniotomy and WBRT. I was scared what the side effects would be but I can tell you now he is doing all on his own and no significant problems with memory loss.
You can message me if you want some details
Stay positive and support your dad, believe in his fight!
Bianca
