Jimmy sorry to hear your biopsy showed cancer.
First, I would recommend that you ask for your biopsy slides be sent to Dr Jonathan Epstein at John’s Hopkins. Your urologist will know what do do, they get this request very often, Epstein is the worlds recgnized expert in Prostate cancer pathology, and it s is a very subjective process.
Second, I can only tell you my experience with surgery. I was fully continent after about
6 weeks. And sexual function recovered. Some are not so lucky. Permanent incontinence is not likely if you have a highly experienced surgeon, but it’s a possibility that has to be acknowledged. Sexual disfunction is more common. I ultimately needed radiation though to “clean up” some left behind cancer .
Third, only you can make the decision as to what’s the best course of action. There is no wrong answer. Either surgery or radiation should give you a reasonably good chance of a good result. Read up on both. I’d recommend Patrick Walsh’s book living with Prostate Cancer

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=dr+mark+scholz&ref=nb_sb_nossYour job right now is to get a solid understanding of the pros and cons of each treatment option.
With a solid understanding you will make the right decision FOR YOU, and you’ll never look back and second guess yourself.
Good luck and keep us posted.
