Today is my 15 years DX anniversary. 15 years OMG. I can’t believe it has been this long and I am still doing so well. We are on the big island of Hawaii celebrating our love, health and happiness. I hope the lyrics get stuck in your head today.

Wowzer! I was diagnosed in May, 4 years ago. I'm booking Hawaii for 11 years from now. Hopefully I can drive there by then. Thanks for inspiring!

I knew you would post today. I remembered your anniversary date but mis-remembered that it had been 15 YEARS. OMG and I say that meaning TOG Thats Our G if you know what I mean, and I know you do. I hope you don't mind, I have been referring your name and blog to some of the newbies.

Thank you everyone. No I won’t be seeing Logo as much as I would like to. He lives on Maui as I recall and we are staying on Hawaii. My daughter arrived on Oahu Monday where she will be living for the next 4 years. Perhaps one day I will be able to meet the infamous Logo. We are enjoying the the island and all Hawaii does for our soul. I never thought I would visit this beautiful place and now we are on our 4th trip. Already planning for next year plus thanksgiving with the daughter in Oahu. Perhaps one day I will step off the plane throw my sneakers in the trash can and never return. Retirement is good. My short term disability has been extended out to the maximum and the long term looks to be a go. We are not rich but we have all we need and can still afford to fly to the big island once a year. Yolo life is good

Be sure to have the malasada's and portuguese bean soup at Tex's drive in while you are there...its onolicous...on the right side of the highway heading toward Kamuela...map it...enjoy your stay...its not called the Big Island for nothing...as always...stay alert on the roads...there is a dangerous mix of drivers in Hawaii generally speaking...regards logo



Major driving tip for where ever one drives...never never... have your front wheels turned toward the way you want to turn...as you are stationary waiting to turn that way....bum by...da kine lolo ram your rear from behind right into the stream of tfc...ouch

We have Malasadas every time we are here. So yummy. Love the sugar and the passion fruit filling. Also like the Passion fruit lemonade. Yesterday at sunset Mandy and I re-affirmed our vows at Pu'uhonua O Hōnaunau. Such a place of peace and beauty. We did it after snorkeling for 3 hours next door at 2-step. To be honest I have eaten nothing but Poke’ and loco Moco since we landed. I cannot get enough. I did have some sushi and some seared ahi at Jackie Rey’s this evening. My biggest concern driving here is the goats, chickens, and pigs. Shoulda got dat insurance. Today we did our one and only paid excursion. We went parasailing. The best of Hawaii is free.

Congratulations! A remarkable achievement. I know you worked hard just getting up to go to work many days when you were so exhausted from treatment fatigue. You persevered. Good for you.

My best to you as you celebrate as well. Wonderful that you take the time to celebrate in a big way. Very happy for you!

Yesterday was Op’hi day. They live on the lava rocks and look like little Mount Fuji’s. You pry them off the rocks and eat them right there like oysters. Yum. I hear they are even better saut’ed in lime and ginger.

I always thought they looked like mini peanut butter cups...use caution when picking them bugga's...da kine waves can knock one off and then knock one silly against the lava rock...ouch

Well poop. We are home from Hawaii after a brief 1 hour layover on Maui. Sucks to be home/ good to be home. Missing the islands already. Feeling good. All tanned up for the summer.
