He has run a hard race.
Diagnosed Sept 2015. A prostatectomy reveled Tb3N1, Gleason 9. He has endured Lupron, Erleada, Zytiga, Xtandi, radiation 3 times, 5 different chemos including Pluvicto.
Now it is time to rest.
Sat April 8 he signed up for in-home hospice.
No more hospitals, clinic visits, trips out of town to Drs, or ambulance rides. If he wants oatmeal raisin cookies or lemon meringue pie for breakfast, bring them on! Steaks, chicken gizzards, broasted chicken, grilled hamburgers, let him eat meat! If he wants Coke instead of Gatorade or water, serve it up!
Ourtime has now become his time. While he is feeling good (as good as he can) we will have Wednesdays as his day out. He will enjoy watching the earth turn green again, the flowers starting to bloom and listen to rain drops tap on the windows as thunder rumbles in the distance. He will watch the birds eat at our bird feeders and listen as they sing their cheery songs. He is looking forward to the orioles. He wants to sit on the patio and watch the neighborhood come to life after a long winter. I will try my best to make his wishes come true.
His name is Jim and I have been lucky to call him my husband.
