Hi Everyone-
I am very excited and wanted to share. As most of you know, my 61 year old dad's cancer came back-9 months after two surgeries. Has had his lymph nodes and testicles out-prostate is still intact. Lymph nodes surgery was supposed to be prostate removal surgery, but it had spread..PSA 64 at time of surgery. PSA down to .04 at 3 months, back up to 8.1 at 9 months-then doubled to 15.88 in two months.
My dad started chemo last month-has had just two treatments so far. Also has been following a veggie/fruit no fat diet-hardly any meat and drinking Pom juice daily. We went last Weds to get his PSA tested. The nurse called today and said it was 4.5! It has dropped drastically. That is awesome...means the cancer is slowing and chemo is working.
We go back Friday-will talk to the doctor and get another PSA-get those results next week to make absolutely sure. Also start round two of chemo. I can't wait to see the next set of scans-in about 4 weeks..that will be the real test. I am so happy that the cancer is slowing though-very encouraging. Thank you Jesus!!!!! I have been doing the Happy dance today :)
