Thanks for your kind words. I have not logged in for several weeks. I have been busy at work and also wresting with what are the next steps in my treatment. I will post more information in the near future.

It has been (and continues to be) a rough couple of weeks. We met with my urologist. The good news is that my second post op PSA was 0.00. The bad news is that based on my Gleason 10 and positive margins, per a Sloan Kettering nomograph, I have 92% chance of recurrence within 5 years and 96% within 7 years.

We are waiting to hear back from my surgeon at Johns Hopkins but I suspect that further treatment is in my future within the next few months. I am still largely incontinent so that frustration remains as well. We are just trying to gather more information right now.

Yeah, this stuff really stinks. Anyway, I have to stay focused, collect information, and make the most informed decision that I can. It was only through my research over the past few weeks that I have come to undertand just how high my odds of recurrence are. I am still waiting to hear back from my surgeon to hear his thoughts. Depending on his response, I will decide what to do next.

Congratulations on getting the surgery done. Hang in there. You will feel better each day. The catheter is annoying but as you now know it is manageable. It will be gone soon.

Have you got the pathology back yet? Is it definitely T3a? I am doing a lot of research on all this right now but the biggest thing that I am waiting on is a call back from my surgeon. I sent him my three month post surgery update and asked him about my risk of recurrence and if adjuvant (before your PSA rises) radiation is prudent.
