Sex with Incontinence?

Although I was getting some erections after my prostatectomy, the doc gave me Viagra to help the recovery process. We decided to try sex so I tried the Viagra and it worked fine erection wise, but I leaked urine anyway. Sure killed the mood. Is this normal?

I read a long post on another site that discussed this problem in detail.  I had never heard it discussed here before.  Those posters said that you should be careful to empty your bladder before sex, but you still might get some spurts or drips. They said that orgasm can cause a spurt. I am not far enough along to know much, but it has been my limited experience that it is true.  Apparently it gets less as time goes by.

Yes, this leakage is normal. Indeed, the doctors and scientists have a term for it that they use in their research articles, climacturia!

Emptying your bladder as completely as you can is sound advice. You might also try a condom to collect any residual urine. I know this doesn't sound sexy or spontaneous, but it may come to a choice of what is the greater mood killer, a raincoat or being left out in the rain.
