greenacres any last min advise?

Just read your story.  Took me the better part of the afternoon to find it all.  Very good information.  I knew that you kept helping me with our questions, but when you are the new person, you sometimes forget that the people who you are depending on for advise have a story also.  I hope that all is looking up for the two of you.  Kurt starts the liquid diet tomorrow, Monday.  Surgery on Wednesday with Doc F.  Thanks to an old post of yours, I will be staying with him that night.  Don't want to miss an early doctor visit the next day.  I have all the supplies you have suggested.  Just nervous I guess.  Kurt seems to, as his mom put it earlier, the one who has a harder than normal time recovering.  I hope not this time!!!  Thanks for everything.  Courtney

 

Hi, KZIZ & Kurt. Just remember that all of us here are with you on this. Everything's going to be fine. We, too, got the last-minute jitters the night before surgery and wanted to back out! The surgical team is wonderful. The waiting area you'll be in is more like a resort lobby than a hospital.

Stay off the high-octane coffee - choose the middle brand or you'll be a chatterbox. ;-)

Kurt's in great hands.

Just remember, some people come out of this all perky and others may be groggy through the night (as my husb. was). Before you leave, the nurse will answer questions and show you all the details about the catheter/bag. They handle multiple post-prostate surgeries, so they're very knowlegeable.

You two are totally prepared, so I know you're anxious/eager to roll!

Hey Courtney and Kurt,

Nothing left to do now except develop a great attitude. Become cheerleaders for the medical team! Cheer each other on (fist pumps help!) Attitude and your body are the only things you get to carry into the OR.
