That was me doing the proposing. Those two ladies sounded HOT describing how they helped their partners, showers and everything. Could not have proposed right out of surgery, I told my freind it looked like someone beat the c%#@P out of hofer the one eyed gopher and stuck a tube in his head. He was all contracted and backed up with a pissed off look on his face. Took about three weeks for him to venture back out, probably wondered who was going to beat him up again. Since then we have made up nicely.

Hi Guys and Ladies,

Thank you so much for starting a humor thread.

Following up on the musical theme, my Mr. Happy wasn't, and had about the same reaction as Daveed's, only maybe worse!  I saw this tube going into something that didn't look familiar at all, and all I could think of, in that post-op groggy state was a song from childhood, "Oh Where, oh where has my little dog gone..." sad

I just stumbled on this thread! I don't know how I missed it before - I'm still laughing!!! Boy, can I relate to some of these! Just to bump it back to the top, here's one from me: We have had to maintain a sense of humor regarding out attempts at relations during my recovery. Having to pump, and some times re-pump can certainly take away from the spontinaity. And because we still have a college age daughter at home, I can't just leave the pump on the bathroom sink overnight and clean it in the morning. So instead of going right to sleep, I wash and she dries. As I ran the soapy water through it the other night, I told my wife , "You know, we use to smoke after sex - now we do the dishes!"

Hi Mike: Thanks for another bump on this thread.  I just ran through the posts again and I'm laughing too.  And I love yours!!!!  LOL

Lately I've been telling the wives in our social circle that my doctors tell me if I ever expect to regain full potency, I'll need "extreme" stimulation of some kind -- like having (or attempting to have) sex with as many women as possible. I'm seeking their cooperation, I say.

No takers so far...except one gal offered me her husband for "extreme stimulation."

Oh well...

Story of my life.

BTW -- these are very close friends I'm talking about -- like family, so it's cool. They laugh, I laugh. (They think I'm still goofy from the anesthesia.)

Reader's Digest is right -- Laughter is the best medicine.

And so is sex.

But the two don't work well together.  Especially if she laughs during sex.

Best to ya pal. And yes, it's all about patience.

You guys are keeping me up.  Uh-oh, gotta be careful here, but I mean that it's late and I just found this group after the doc informed me today that I qualify for more than just the parkinsons group.  I will have to go back and read it all, but glancing over recent postings reminds me of the old gag on "Saint Elsewhere".  Do you know the one I mean?  Pow.  Hilarious.

ok piano man great thread..

my contribution.

during one of my early visits with my uro and discussing surgery and complications. I was concerned with surugical mortality as I had had a recent heart attack about a year before radical Prostectomy.... SO I being concerned asked if he had dealt with many patients dying during this type of surgery. He replied " Ive been doing this surgery for about 20 + years and have never lost a single  patient on the operating table...it was usually 2 to 3 days afer the surgery..... OUCH !

he of course then set my mind at ease and made me comfortable with my decision to have the surgery.

LOL Telstar -- I would have run for my life!!! Or demanded a hell of a morphine drip for the first two or three days in post-op.

Maybe that's why today they're throwing us post-op guys out of the hospital within a day or two of our surgeries! It gives us a better shot at short-term survival!!!

oh one more... my wife was unfortunate enough to have been present during my catheter removal. She was sort of grinning after it came out and being in a postion where she could see what was happening she commented to me that it looked like he was had his mouth wide open going OHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Telstar - we relate to OHHHHHHHHHHH! And there's poor Bob looking down saying . . . "oh the poor little guy"!!!! Poor doctor was trying to talk to him about when to expect pathology report and finally turned to me with a huge grin on his face and continued talking . . . .HIS patient was NOT paying attention to thd doctor's words one little bit!!!! I still giggle when I think of it!

LOL.............you guys are great, but you must remember the nurse's have stories about your procedures......................
I was a new nurse and back then surgicals were admitted to the hospital the night before surgery so we could prep you..........we loved our job.
We always had to shave and scrub the surgical site..............yup Willie's territory.
I was shaving a very nice patient one night and trying to be nonchalant about it as I visited with the patient.
Now you cannot shave a gentleman without touching, yes a hands on experience.............suddenly the patient said to me, "You better hurry up because he is coming to life".............I said good enough.
I had to go to the back room as I was laughing so hard the tears were rolling down my cheeks and I decided right then.............I had a good job.

Kitt - that's a good one for sure!!! I'm sure the nurses (and doctor's) could right books!

The nurse who was taping some gauze near the end of hubby's penis to catch the odd leak past catheter, taped the gauze . . .looked for an anchor and stuck it to the testicle. Her comment was . . . won't removing THAT be a nutty experience!!

Ok, I guess that the memory is the second thing to go so here it is from "Saint Elsewhere".  Patient is brought into the room after undergoing an inflatible penile inplant.  "I've got to try this out" he says to his roommate as he pulls the curtain shut around his bed.  (sound of air going into something, followed by Bang!)  "Oh, my God" says the roommate as he quickly pulls the curtain back.  The prankster has a big grin while he holds the paper bag that he just blew up and popped.  Well I thought that it was funny.

Thanks for all the amusement to read about some humor moments in the treatment process. In my process my friends have been among my best supporters. The listen to me. They helped me in also in many other ways. And one of the first time of a discussion about my PC it was with a guy who had skin cancer and was treated for it. And now since some time is well. We always have very frank discussions. So a bit into the discussion I suddenly understood something and passed it to him: Mikael, its one thing I can be sure about in the future. And that is if this operation goes well, I never need to worry about getting PC as some other guys might do. I dont know but he laught a lot when I told this... :-)... and use to tell it to some other friends... he laughs when telling it and they laugh when hearing it... he likes the positive interperation of the situation... but isnt it a fact?? :-)

Good news and good news is appropriate anywhere.  I liked the humor that used to be in this thread so-I take both Viagra and Allegra and sometimes I get them mixed up so if I start sneezing, look out!  It's Saturday-relax.     (This post was kind of a reply to a post that seems to have vanished.  It was regarding someone who is currently cancer free.  Today has been strange.)

Elsewhere in these forums comments are being made about women.  I myself have the greatest respect for women, but let's face it, there are some things that they can't do.  Don't believe it, it's in the Bible.  Moses and his people were lost, wandering in the desert for 40 years.  Finally Moses turns to Mrs. Moses and says "Ok, alright, give ME the map."  All I have left are jokes about winning the lottery so somebody better jump in here.

Ok I've got another one, maybe this has happend to somebody else. After the first few days with the catheter, I wore the leg bag during the day. I became quite proficient in emptying the thing without spilling it. But one afternoon, when I was home alone, I sat down in my recliner to rest for "just a few minutes." When I woke up more than two hours later, I felt some bladder pressure. When I went to pull up my pant leg to empty the bag, I found I couldn't move it. The bag was so full it had totally stretched out my cuff! They wouldn't go up, they wouldn't go down. I finally had to cut the seam a little to relieve the pressure. When I finally got the bag exposed, it looked like an overgrown water baloon, ready to burst! By this time I was laughing so hard I almost pulled the little faucet off the bag.
But I never fell asleep in the chair again!

My wife and I were driving back from Home Depot and talking about caulking the siding on our house... Then I came up with this great idea for incontinance...

Silicon rubber caulking compound...

Will call it Pete's Penis Plug...

Just a small squirt in the end will do the job...
Form fitting, soft and pliable...
about 500 plugs per tube...
Available in assorted colors...

Warning Label: Do not point penis at anybodies face/eyes!
An unexpected cough or sneeze could release a dangerous projectile!

Anyway, it gave us a great laugh on the way home and when I got home I had to change a very soaked, wet, pad!
