Good morning,

I have not been on this site for a while and need some advise again.  I had robotic surgery on February 8, 2007.  Incontinence went away after just a few weeks and all is fine there, but ED is still here.  I have a vacuum pump and that works good, but I would rather not have to use it.  I am a VA patience and they have given me Levitra and I bought my own Cialis, but neither of those work.  I have an appointment at VA on Thursday, June 14 and they are going to give me a suppository that goes in the end of the penis and draws blood into that area.

Before I go in and do it I wondered if anyone has had any experience with one of these.  I don't know what the official name of the suppository is or the name of the procedure.

Please let me know if anyone has had any information on this.

BTW, I have had 2 PSA tests since the opeartion and both are .001.

Hi Matt

There are several posts here that talk about the MUSE erectile suppository.  I haven't tried it.  My doctor suggested that I go directly from "pills" (Levetra, Cialis & Viagra) to injections.

I will start the injections next month.  Check with your VA doctors to see what they think.

Hi mat, Kurt has not tried the supp. yet, but may do so in the near future. Our doc gave us that option as well as the injections. He did tell us that it is about half the size of a piece of rice. That sound more appealing to kurt than a shot. Please let us know if you go that route. We would love to know how it works. I haven't had much luck trying to find others who have gone that way. Kurt & Courtney,

VA has the injectionis and according to what I have read they work about 80% to 90% of the time.  The suppository works on only about 40% of the time and they suggested I try that first to see if that works.  I am not looking forward to injecting that piece of flesh.

I am going in to have them show me how to do it Thursday so I will let you know how it works.  I found some information on line about MUSE and it is supposed to work in about 15 minutes so I guess I will know that day.

Hey Mat,

My husband tried the suppository. The dr. started him off on too low a dosage so it provided minimal results. It also caused his penis to burn for about 2 hours. This is a side effect for some people, I guess. We're trying the injections tomorrow. Our dr. likes to start off very minimal - I don't think I agree with that approach.
