I am scheduled to have the catheter removed on 2/14.  My Doc is going to put me on a post operative rehab plan.  I know from reading other posts that it involves Viagra. I have also purchased a VED on my own.  Any advice on what the Doc may leave out of the plan that I could benefit from?

My doc wanted me on Cialis 3 - 4 times per week. It's expensive, but it seems to work better than Viagra, and I don't have the side effects like I do on Levitra.

I think other than drugs, a pump and playing with it a lot...there isn't much else to do. sort of like trying to get a good friend to wake up from a coma!

I would ask the doctor about the pump to be sure he or she agrees. Ask when for any kind of sex to even try.
Ask the doc about walking and how much. Don't sit for long periods of time even now if you can.

Just got back from a walk to my front gate. It is about 1/4 mile each way.  I have to stop several times but it's getting easier each day.  Did you notice any urine leakage around the catheter after your walks? Just curious.  I'm about 9 days post op.

Be careful with the viagra dose. Some men have side effects with the 100 size often prescribed, so it's best to cut them  or have the smaller size 25  to start with.

Bootheel, you are doing much better than me with a catherter. I had blood around where the tube came out but not urine but, some of the others have seems like. On how far to walk, just follow what your doctor and body tells you. Sometimes I wonder if it is not how far you walk as how often, meaning to find a good balance between sitting and a stroll. When you get the tube out, you can really start recovery.

As far as leaking around catheter, anything goes. i had blood, urine and just plain ooze. It's all kind of gross. I hated bowel movements with it in. The bladder contracts on its own and it was a mess.

Leakage from the catheter is normal.

Try to endure the discomfort of the catheter.

IMO, your real rehab starts as soon as the catheter is removed. yeah
