Hello all those who read this....
My father was diagnosed a few years ago with PC. It has metastized to the bone and we have helped him deal with this. I came to this site to find some answers about his current treatment. I have read some of the posts and I question what I know. Today, my father made the decision to try Taxotere(sp?). However, his doctor stated that his PSA was 253 two weeks ago and 256 this week. What I do not understand is, am I hearing this doctor correctly, can PSA's be that high? Most of the PSA's on this forum are in the double digits lower than 20. What am I missing? Are there more than one type of PSA and I am focusing on a particular one?
My father will be 72 this year and was dx'ed maybe in 2004 or 2005, where then his PSA was recorded in the 100's. Can someone shed some light on this for me.
Sincerley,
