Potty trained

Hi everyone.  After my cath came out I leaked like a faucet.  The first couple of months were tough because I have a public job with several public meetings in groups and with individuals in my office.  I was always worried about leaking.  I was like most people, when I stood up I leaked, when I bent over I leaked etc.  I never used more than two pads a day, for which I am lucky and greatful but I just could not shake the dependence on the depends (get it).  Last time I was about to run out of pads I told myself to try and do without them.  Well, I didn't listen very well so I bought another pack of them.  My wife went to Sam's club, called me and asked if I needed more and I told her no.  I was down toward the bottom of the pack I had and yesterday I was going to see how I would do.  No problems and went to work today without any leaking.  So I guess I am cured of this problem.  I know there are other guys out there who still struggle and I hope and pray that you will get some relief from the leaking.   Take care as always.

Hey Mika,

Everything about this disease takes persistence. I have found that using incentives to improve work in the healing process. I was determined to get dry quick and was very lucky in that about a day after the catheter came out I quit leaking. So I threw away the pads. My first day teaching school was a little scary because I really didn't want to develop a big wet spot in front of 35 students. Didn't happen which did a lot for my confidence that I was healing up.

  Great News ~ Mika,   Thank you for continuing to reach out to all of us with the healing/recovery stepping-stone that you are on and will now move forward on to another one.  Still taking the time to heal properly.  We did a wonderful little dance and a high5 when we read your thread... and thought back to our 1st visit in your office.....   WOW... and here we are today! Mika... you've done extremely well and in a profession where you're wearing that extra weight around the middle so soon after surgery... you've taken good care of you and that's important. The extra weight was your "gun belt"  (blushing smiley).... I was concerned when you first went back to work because of the pressure around your waist (incision)... eeekkkkk

You've spread the word in many ways ~ and this is a priceless gift you will have given many.

Man of man was it nice to see your post today.  I am about 3 weeks out of surgery and I am not seeing any improvement with leaking.  I leak most when standing.  I need a good plumber. Even if my bladder is full sitting it just leaks out when I stand.  At night I do hold a little but have to get up to go 2-4 times a night and still leak some.  I would love to see improvement.  I am kegeling my little butt off and will start increasing my walk time. I am working full time and at the end of the day I am still sore down below. 

Must be some kind of a cruel joke I am truly blessed for my sexual function is back to the way it was before surgery but what am I supposed to do with this broken faucet.
