The Cath is out!! The cancer was confined to Prostate !!!! Kent is dripping and of course freaked out about it. But he knows thats to be expected. Put on Cialis 5 mg at night to start out and see how it goes. He was put on Cialis instead of Viagra due to insurance reasons. The doc worked it so he could get more that way for less money.

His incision is healing nicely and because of his high energy, he is ready to take on the world. Again he knows to take it easy. Its hard to keep this man down.

Thank you for all of your concerns, answers to my every question and always being there. I will continue to give updates and  encourage and be there for others as they need.

I really don't know what I would have done without this forum.

Congratulations on the good report about the prostate cancer surgery and pathology report!  Now its progress in dealing with the post-op side effects, which should normalize sooner or later.

In the meantime, you and Kent are well-informed about the need to take it easy physically during the healing process, except the necessity to walk, walk, walk. 

Your comments about this forum are all true. I've never been on a forum where folks were so genuinely concerned, willing to help, and have such a great group of moderators. I did not find it until after my surgery, but, hey, better late than never.

Hi Cindy and Kent,

Welcome to the other side and I'm very happy to hear that all went well. Hopefully Kent will take it easy for e few weeks and give his body a chance to heal. Walking and stair climbing helped me a lot during my healing, just don't over due it! Don't forget your 'Kegels' :-).

Wonderful news Cindy & Kent! What a relieft! Now the healing process! This will soon be all behind you, and a distant memory. Way to go!!!!

C&K - sounds like things went great on all fronts!

Just a reminder, Kent - you may feel great but you just had major surgery...walk, yes, but don't be fooled into thinking you're ready for much more than that. There are some here who did too much too soon and paid the price.

Great news VaFan, take it easy and get well. The positive energy of being cancer free is great, but remember that this is a major surgery, and there is plenty of time to resume life after a few weeks of light duty life. Best of Luck, we are all survivors in one fashion or another.

Wonderful news guys. Glad to have you on the other side. Now the healing can begin. Walk as much as you can but listen to your body when you get tired. You can certainly overdo it. The dripping was a shock for me but it will get better in stages. Take care and let us know how your journey is progressing.

  Hey ~ Cindy & Kent, Great News on "both" ends... path & cath  (gosh I'm a poet and didn't know it)... You sound great!!!    And please do take all the advice given... Great news on the pathology report, take it nice and slow and heal well. You will get through this next phase just fine and here's hoping the first PSA test is a big 0.

Glad to hear the catheter is out and everything went as expected. The major good news there is that the cancer was confined to the prostate. Looks like you are on your way to a full recovery. Take care and hope the next PSA will be 00000's.

I'll have my catheter out next week (4/29/09) and hoping for same news as you.
