My husband has an appointment in the morning with a radiation oncologist. When the surgeon's office called they said they wanted to see if he was a candidate for a new therapy that was just five sessions. After doing some research the only thing that I can find is some information on SBRT (Stereotactic body radiaton therapy). They do it in five 30 minute sessions. Is anyone familiar with this?
Also, we have no idea what to expect at this appointment. We don't know if we will just talk to the doctor or if they will schedule more scans, etc. We are travling 150 miles for this appointment and have no idea if we need to plan to be there one day or several days.
