I used Bimix for the 1st time last night and I couldn't be happier. I was prescribed Trimix by my Urologist and have been fighting with it since Nov. Although, I obtained a proper erection with .325 ML, the stinging afterwards was getting me down. On my recent follow-up visit, I asked my Dr. to change me to Bimix. I also changed pharmacies to University Compounding Pharmacy in San Diego (I think they are a chain operation). I think that the pharmacy plays a part in success since they have more experience in making up Bimix and Trimix and the ingredients are fresher due to quicker turnover. The first pharmacy seemed confused by the Rx and one of the ingredients was going out of date. They also didn't have the smaller guage needles and tried to get me to use a 27 guage, OUCH! I was able to get 30 guage needles at another pharmacy.
I also changed to the technique suggested by James the Moderator of plumping the penis and applying a restriction device prior to injecting (I use a BD autoinjector with 1/2in. 30 guage needle and 1/4 in. spacer to shorten the needle depth to 3/8 inch). I handle my penis to obtain a partial erection and then use a rubber band to hold the blood in. I then inject at a 90 degree angle to either side-alternating to the right or left side every other time. I then massage back and forth for several minutes and then remove the rubber band (I never had a pump and the rings that come with them).
My erection was 95% of pre-prostate surgery hardness and felt like old times. After sex, I didn't have any pain and the erection went down slowly and was gone approximately an hour and a half after injection. The prescription was written for a .5ML dosage so it took slightly more than the Trimix. I could experiment with less but I'm not going to since my insurance covers most of the cost. My only concern now, is that I may need higher doses over time as mentioned by others on this forum.
Good luck to any others who may be considering changing from Trimix to Bimix to eliminate the pain cause by the PG.
