Hi

Please see below for our stats. Urinary control was regained for the most part 4 months post op. ED was an issue prior to surgery due to heart meds. Post op has become worse.

Richard, the experimental was mentioned by the Dr. from the Radiation Oncology center(which I did not use) and not my Urologist. What he mentioned was Cryotheropy and HIFA??

my 26 year old daughter had microsurgery on feb 11 2010 the day before her surgery igave her a fleet enema and it reallly worked as she had not gone to the bathroom for 2 or three weeks she also became incontinent of her urine. when she left the hosp. they left a catherder in her which she got a uti infection she is still numb her foot is totally numb and she is still incontinent the doctors dont seem to be concerned or care! she and i do not know what todo she is going to another gastointernologist tomorrow but i feel something more is wrong please somebody help me im so very concerned

My husband was 57 at diagnosis, stage T1c. DRE normal, PSA 6.4. Biopsy revealed 2 out of 10 cores positive on left side. Gleason was 3+3 and 3+4. Robot assisted prostatectomy in March 2008. Final Gleason unchanged (3+4) but stage upgraded to T3a due to extraprostectic extension. All other margins and tissues were clean. PSA continues to be undetectable 2 years later. Incontinence never much of an issue but he still experiences minor leaking on some days. Erections only with medication, about 50 mg. 3 times a week (just received our first order of "Manly" from ADC). No other issues post-op - recovery was unremarkable.

angelofvik, WE are a bunch of old guys and their wives, relatives etc. who are dealing with Prostate Cancer, and it's aftereffects of treatment. I'd venture that none of us know much about why a 26 years old female would develop incontinece. Your idea to find another doctor sounds reasonable and is the first thing we would recommend, so you are going in the right direction. One of our long term incontinence guys or one of the ladies may have something more to add.

Go to the YANA site and you can search patient's stories and outcomes by gleason grade, psa and type of treatment.

Age 70, PSA 5.1, Gleason 3+4, Leaked for 4 weeks after cat came out 6-7 pads a day, was 99% dry at 7 weeks. No natural erection after 5 months. working on getting trimex injections working. Use VED and Cialis for rehabilitation. PSA undetectable, but worry about PSM.

ED No response to anything, one 5mg Cialis per day.

age now is 68, PSA 3.8, Gleason 8, robotic surgery 13 months ago, non nerve sparing. Continent after 5 months. Still with ED using pump and trimix injections. PSA .004 after 1 year.

Age 56, PSA 5.5, open surgery mid May 2010, nerves spared.

Started at 10-12 pads a day, now down to 1 1/2 pads after 7 months

ED is OK without drugs, a bit better with Viagara but it was a slow gradual recovery, I'm happy with the ED progress but getting frustrated with the continence.

ED WAS FINE about 8 MONTHS AFTER SURGERY.

HAVE VERY GOOD CONTROL AFTER ONE MONTH.

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACT AFTER 66 MONTHS PSA=0.01 THANKS  GOD tongue

Don't know if you are still collecting data but I'll add mine to the pile

Age at DX 56, PSA 23, Gleason 3+4, Biopsy 7 out of 12 - Up to 70%.
DaVinci RP.
Now Age 58, After 16 months PSA <0.01, Still total ED and incontinent at 100 - 150 ml / day.
Scheduled for sling surgery in 2 weeks! Take that Kimberly Clark!

We have just started our journey as we were told yesterday that my husband has cancer. PSA score checked 7 years ago with a score of 1.4. He got sick all of a sudden and went to the doctor about 2 months ago. His PSA was 165.3. We got the biopsy report yesterday. His Gleason score is 4+4+8.
