Hi All,
Just had my 4 month follow up with my Urologist and here is what I know. My 4 month PSA is undetectable below 0.05. My six week PSA was done at my local Hosp and I learned that their testing only goes to 0.01 and I cant use them any more and need to search for a better local lab.
My Urologist instilled confindence in me to wait on the radiation for the bad margin. He said 50% of patients with bad margins have PSA failure. 50 % of those with radiation follow ups with no PSA rise get radiation when they did not need it. He stated that my PSA needs to be watched every three months and if it just blinks he recomends Radiation. I am leaning toward agreeing with him but will still meet with the Radiation Oncologist to get his opinion. Urologists seem to be conservative with this.
My cancer was located in an unusual spot. At the top Distal at the apex right by the urethra. He thinks he made an indentation with a Robotic tool and when they inked it, this dimple caused the margin. He said a positive margin is a positive margin though.
Anyway 4 month PSA of 0000000000000000000000000000's I feel good.
Thanks for the replies on my earlier post I truly appreciate it.
I just got my summer back.
