I thought we were done with the bad news and we were starting to relax a bit. Than my husband got a silent heart attack this afternoon. We're still awaiting test results, my husband feels fine. It is just so disheartening to have to deal with another medical problem. Dutchy

I am so sorry to hear the news.  Please keep us posted and we will be thinking of you both. 

BTW- I am use to a lot of rain in Seattle, but you guys definitely need a break.  I wish I could share my umbrella.

We're certainly think of you both right now Dutchy. We've had many a rain storm as well. I wish you both comfort and peace and all the hugs cyber space can send your way.

What a bummer. I see from your signature that the PSA readings are going very well and now a problem with the old ticker comes along. I trust that in a few weeks we'll be reading that this was just another of life's hurdles he has cleared. Best wishes,

If you whistle a little bit, the rain will not seem as bad.  I hope there are some clear skies the forecast soon for the two of you.

Sometimes bad things come in bunches. All we can do is take one day at at ime and do the next indicated task always looking forward to a better day. Good luck and stay positive...

I'm very sorry to hear your latest news. Yes, it's disheartening, but you have to keep a stiff upper lip and try to stay strong.

I to am thinking of you guys and hoping for many years of peace, love and happiness. I always say "where there is hope there is life", so please even when things seem to be at their darkest there is always a glimmer of hope and that is what I always encourage people to latch on to. Life is a bumpy road, however the friends here are at HW can be your shock absorbers. Stay strong and I hope he gets well soon.

Dear Dutchy,

I really hate this for you.  How discouraging.  One thing after another.  When it rains it pours, indeed.  I just read your post and signature to my wife and she was dumb struck.  It reminded us of one time when one of our children was very ill.  We just stood in the kitchen and hugged each other and cried and cried.  The kid got better.  Maybe the same will happen to you.

Thanks to all for the warm replies, it's like a warm bath.

My husband is an extraordinary man and he is an exceptional person in many respects. We love each other deeply. Although the heart attack is a setback, we're not beat. We continue to have good faith that we will have many good times ahead of us. We're moving to Europe, and I'm looking forward to seeing him the continent I'm from.

The treatment for his heart could interfere with the treatment for the cancers and we're awaiting a discussion with the oncology/cardiology teams on what the options and the risks are: knowledge is power! For the time being, we're betting on the release date from the hospital, :) Cheers, Dutchy
