in my family, no uncles, brothers, grandfathers had prostate cancer.  My father is 90 and his Dr. says his prostate is that of a 50 year old, my brother's last psa at 50yr old with a prostate is the same as mine without one, <0.04.

Hate that my son's chances have now doubled!

My husband feels the same way, Montee.  Don's cancer is aggressive and his concern is real.

We want our sons to be vigilant without driving them crazy, you know? Both (37 & 42) got their exams & PSA's immediately and swear it will be an annual event.  Their doctors agree.

I know it doesn't feel good to have this worry for someone you love, it's an "emotional side effect" of this terrible disease.

Montee, I understand...we have two sons 39 and 34....My husband's father did have Pca but kept it a secret...He died at 95. He had surgery at 67...We didnt know what it was for...If we had, maybe Pete would have been more vigilant. Good luck on your journey...Di

Both my father and my grandfather had/have PC. I have a brother and a son and I am terrified. I try to remind myself though, that knowledge is power and early screening makes all the difference with this disease. I also hold on to the hope that with all the research that is conducted, there will be a cure soon. There is a silver lining and we truly do not know what is right around the corner.
