Don't know if you had laproscopic or open surgery but I was basically back to being able to lift heavy objects (being careful) 6 weeks out from my surgery - saying that I am sure every situation is a little different. I also went back to work 3 weeks after surgery, but I have a desk job. However, I do work out, and certainly do yard work etc.. My biggest problem in lifting is continence. Straining usually causes leakage. Best of luck..
