Hi All

I have not posted recently because there was no change in my health.

I am , for the third time having an AUS implanted, because the first two failed.  I am having the operation at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn by Dr  Dan Elliott.  He is very experienced and so I am hoping it will work this time.  My story is about two pages long and i did not want to bore you with it.  I would ask for your prayers for success because this is the last time I am going to have it done.  I feel great except for the leakage as many of you know what that is.  Will write again in about a week.  Thanks for your help and prayers.

Jerry, much good luck and thoughts and prayers to you. I can understand your frustration. I think Peter will have to have his AUS redone. It is not working as well as he thought it would..It is leaking quite a bit....So we will be following in your path....Di

JerryV, I really hope the third time is the charm for you. Dr. Elliott was on my short list of Doctors for my AUS but I decided to stay close to home and just drive 3 hours to Dallas for mine. I do not know about your first two Doctors but I feel that experience is really important in installing these devices. I am also wondering were your first two deviceses the AMS 800? I know there is one or maybe two other companies that make a AUS deivce. The few of us that suffered long term incontance really know where you are comming from and where you are trying to get too.

HI All

Well i went to Mayo Clinic and was supposed to have AUS implanted and it did not happen.

After an examination it was found that the neck of my bladder, which should have a hole the size of a soda straw, was only a pin hole.  They were surprises that i could pee at all.  If they had installed the AUS Dr Elliott said i would have been back in two weeks saying it did not work.  They went up there and carved away the scar tissue obstruction. I was very dissappointed but i got over that in about one hour and am on track again.  I have to go up in about two months to check how things are going and if alll is OK i will come back in about two months.  So it will be six months before i will know if the AUS worked for me  Hope all of you are doing well

Oh Jerry, I can understand the frustrations. We have a very similar problem here. The AUS that was activated on Oct 28 is leaking badly. We have to go back next week, and have it checked. Good luck to you. D
