My New Years Wish

If New Years Wishes were available and I could have one granted, here's what I would wish for. I would wish that each member here activate the email function in the left side area under their user name. Using the free Healing Well email account option or having a free or throw away account from some other provider would make it much better for the moderators to contact members off-Forum for private discussions. What private discussions, you ask? Many thing, including our gently pointing out dangerous practices, possible rules violations or just that we wish to say something to someone in private and not posted for the whole board to read. Sometimes new folks come on and there's something we need to say to them or point out that would better said in private.

It is easy to do it, just go to Control Panel, then select Edit Profile, then just above the second heavy blue line, enter the throwaway or HW address and just under the same blue line check Show my Email Address box. Email address placed there are seen and only can be accessed only by current members who are logged into their account.

As a added note and warning, it is not good safe computer practice to place your email address in the main body or signature area of the posts you make, as email harvesters can and will grab it and subject you to spam from spamming robots. If you feel you must have it in the signature, use the html editing function to mask it with a hot link, rather than the address itself.
