I have been using trimix for a year.  During this year I have tried several different mixtures (30-1-20   20-1-10   15-0.5-10) and have always used from .04 cc/ml to .08 cc/ml.  I have made it to the ER three times.  While using the lowest mixture and injecting .06 to .07 cc/ml erections have been around the 85% mark for 5 to 10 minutes then dropping rapidly to the 35% mark and staying at this point for 5 to 7 hours even after 2 to 4 “real” Sudafed and ice.   I have tried .04 cc/ml and 50 mg Viagra with the same results.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might try next?  Am I one of the chosen few that injections of any kind are not going to help?

Many members have reported troubles and pain with Tri mix and have opted for the Bi-mix formulation that leaves out the ingredient that causes the problems but is still just as effective. Some who are currently using this approach will undoubtably let you know the finer details.

I have been using trimix for nearly 3 years now with very good results.  My formula is  (according to the RX on the bottle) alprostadyl - 5.88mcg, papaverine 17.64 mg, phentolamine .588ml.  I don't know if it is mixed with saline or something else, but I end up with 50 ml of mixture.  My dosage is usually around 1.1ml and is good for well over an hour, sometimes over 2 hours.  I may have my Dr. prescribe bimix on my next round to see if it works for me because trimix does cause a little aching once in awhile.  I hope this info will be helpful.   Allan

Gary, I had written Trimix (and Bimix) off as ineffective to me. I then tried a little trick that has made a vast improvement in the effectiveness of both. I found that I was missing the mark most of the time, or when hitting it, the drug flowed out of my body before adsorbing into the tissue. I use the following method now, and it is a sure-fire winner for me. Using a VED (penis pump) and rings, I pump the penis up about 15 to 20%, just enough to fill the cavities with some blood. I then roll the ring off the pump onto my penis (the smallest ring I have) and then inject myself. When I inject , I can feel the needle passing thru the outer tissue and dropping into the cavity (It sounds worse than it feels). The resistance falls as soon as I get the neddle point into the cavity. Added benefit is I have no pain- repeat no pain from the injection now, versus quite a bit before. I then inject, then gently massage the penis -very gently-- to spread the drug around inside. After around 3 minutes, I remove the ring and go ahead with foreplay. This method results in a useable erection every time, lasts from 1 to 2 hours, and not a failure since I started. The veinous valves in my penis aren't functioning yet, so keeping the drug inside until it can adsorb is what I need. Using this method I have dropped by usage of Trimix from .3cc to .1cc and Bimix from .5cc to .2cc. I suggest you try this method. If you don't have a pump, get some rings and an applicator- around 20 bucks online- and manually milk the penis to get blood into it, until it becomes plump, then apply the ring. Can't hurt and might help-worth a try? If you do try this method, inject only half or less of what you were using, and keep trying until you find a formula that works the most.

Allan, I just asked a pharmacist at Francks about the ratios. The 30/1/10mcg is the amount of drugs in 1ml of sterile bacteriostatic water. If you get 5ml (you said 50ml- is that right?) then you got 30/1/20 x 5 times ther individual drugs in the vial. I hope you meant you get a 5ml vial and inject .11ml/cc per injection. The 1.1 ml size is massive for Trimix, I think.

Thanks for the responses.  I will give the pump and ring a try.  However, my main proplem has not been obtaining and errection, but getting rid of it in 2 to 4 hours instead of 5 to 7 hours.

Well, I misunderstood what you were talking about then... tongue The only remedy I know for overstaying erections is Sudafed and long winters night walks- from personal experience that is..lol Maybe with the rings deal and using less, you will get better effect and less after effect?

I have found that a hot bath for an hour or two will bring it down along with having your legs raised above the rest of your body while in the tub. I'm taking 25 mcgs of Edex/Caverject which works in 10 minutes but can last for 3+ hours. Then I'm also taking Motrin or Advil to kill the pain from the alprostadil.

Correct me if I am wrong, but your concern is that your erections last too long using tri-mix.  Is that right?

 You say that you have a 35% erection for 5 to 7 hours, as far as I know that is not a problem.  With bi-mix some of my erections last nearly that long, but are usually 50% or less.  My urologist said that was ok.  The problems start when you have a rock hard erection that lasts for over 4 hours, a lesser erection should not be considered a problem. (If I am wrong medically,someone please tell me)

If that is where you are, and if it checks out with your doc, you shouldn't have to worry.  Sounds like the shots are working for you.

I am appreciative of the information provided - the experiences of various persons. I too am wrestling with Trimix and pain. The aching I have experienced is not just from a full erection. As time goes on it continues even with partial. For me the pain is so significant that unless the right combination is found it is simply not worth it. It is the kind of thing that would be humorous were it not so painful - it is from one extreme to the other.

I am having a difficult time understanding why the doctors want to use alprostadyl knowing that it is the pain producer for some of us. It appears that Bimix without the alprostadyl works for most effectively without the pain. At any rate, I am going to try what James C has described with a lesser dose and see what occurs.

Lifeguyd...  Thanks for your response.  I talked to the urologist last week and he said the same thing about the "50%" erections.  I feel much more comfortable hearing something from someone this forum than from the doc.  I was thinking that when someone mentioned the duration of an erection that it meant until flacid.  After some of my past experiences it is difficult to go to sleep knowing I am still at 35%.  I definately do not want anymore damage.
