getting back on a bicycle, motorcycle, etc.

I am 8 weeks post op from a RPP and I go see my Dr. for a followup on 2/27, maybe he will release me to return to my normal duties at work.  I have been doing modified (light) duty at work for the last 4 weeks which consists of paperwork. 

for those of you that ride motorcycles (on and off road motorcycles and ATV's)  as well as mountain bicycles and road bicycles how long did you have to wait before you could ride again after your operation? 

I used a forklift to move stuff around last week at work and I noticed when sliding off the seat that there is still some soreness up inside I guess where the prostate would have been right when I get to the edge of the seat.  also sitting on a metal high stool at a PC work station is uncomfortable after a few minutes.  I can only imagine that riding a mountain bike on a rough or bumpy trail on those small seats will not be comfortable.

I can't answer your question directly but I can say that my surgeon said that I would be able to resume full activities after 4 weeks from the surgery date. I'm currently about 2.5 weeks out and I feel better than I thought I would but I can't predict whether I'll be good enough for a bike that soon. My main concern regarding activity is being able to get back to work which for me means driving a local delivery truck. After I can do that I'll be hoping to get back to skiing, hiking, and running as soon as possible. I guess the only way to tell what we're going to be able to do is to try it and see how it feels and adjust our rehab to that feedback. I'm sure everyone is probably going to be a little different in that respect, but I hope we can all get back to our favorite pastimes as quickly as possible.
