Hi,

Thanks to everyone for the help and support in my quest for treatment options and choices.

I was very lucky to get the surgery done by Dr Walsh - he is truly a genius and a truly comforting and understanding doctor. As he says, he treats his patients the same way he would like to be treated if he were to be ill. Dr Walsh saved both nerve bundles and the pathology report just came back all clean, tumor contained.

The suregry was performed on 03/04/09 and I am out of the hospital two days later. I know it will take some time to fully recover but a clean path report can make up for all the incomfort.

Next stop is the post op PSA  check, and my prayers go to all who are still fighting the disease.

I am impressed that you had your surgery by the Master himself. I was happy just to read his book cover to cover. I am glad you are on the other side now, the recovery side, and glad that your post surgery pathology report looks so good. Yes, as you are waiting for that first PSA test post surgery, you will be working on your Incontinence issues (if any) and thinking about the ED/Sex part. Glad it went so well for you, and be sure to keep us posted.

That's good news, Nasso. Welcome to the other side. Now, drink plenty of water, start taking walks each day extending the distance. This will help purge the system and get your internal organs functioning properly again. turn

how long did you have to wait for an appointment with Dr Walsh? I would assume that he is pretty booked up given his reputation.

Thanks, I started already the walking - today the weather is quite nice in Baltimore and did about 2 hours walking at 3 days post surgery.

John - my wife did the first appointment for a consultation and it took 3-4 weeks. When she asked about scheduling a procedure, the staff said it takes 2-3 months. On Feb 20 I flew to Baltimore for the consultation without much hope Dr Walsh will be able to fit me in his schedule. During the visit he did say that he is now taking new patients for May 2009. However he decided to check his computer shedule after he examined me and said he can take me March 4th - which was in less than two weeks. Maybe there was a cancellation or it was just my lucky day, I dont know.
