So, I thought I'd just start a new one.

So here's my update after seeing the doctor today.

My PSA is 36.36
To some that may seem high, to you regulars, that's 8 weeks post chemo stable!

Presently I am only on Lupron and Zometa as I await the next step.

We are currently awaiting for a phone call from MD Anderson and plan to go there to determine
if they have anything that might address my condition.

Tonight, I am somewhat at a loss for words....but I'm sure there will be more at my blog tomorrow.....

And please take it easy. My pics for an old trip are on an album on my Facebook site I loaded Saturday after you asked. New ones coming. I just have to load them.

I have a better idea...Come out and I will play a round with you, take you to Zion, and Duck Creek...You can bring the hole clan....

Tomorrow I am off the Houston to visit the great people at MD Anderson. By pulling a few strings we were able to get an appointment with "the big cheese" at MDA.

Over the past 4+ years I have tried; Casodex/Lupron, HDK/Lupron, Niladron/Lurpon and most recently Prednisone/Atrasentan/Taxotere. Since finishing chemo on January 26th
my PSA has remained stable, though still in the mid-30's. I am only on Lupron and Atrasentan (or placebo). I am currenlty in no pain, just the usual minor aches and pains from the bone mets.
I am however still experiencing joint pain from the Prednisone withdrawl and will discuss that furhter in Houston.

We are hoping to find a few clinical trials to choose from but if not we plan to come back to KC and use plan B; DES or Estrodiol patches.

As some of you might know last week I went to MD Anderson to get guidance for the head of the PCa department, Dr. L.
We had to pull a few strings to get in to see him, but it was worth it.

He did not subscribe anything new. He did not enroll me in a clinical trial. He did not order any testing besides the blood work.

What he did do is send me home, and that's a good thing!

he told us we had done everything right over the last four years and the keep it up! He said we needed to remain and let the chemo to continue to work.
He added a few new blood markers to watch (I'll share later) and wished us luck and said he hoped we didn't need to come back to see him for a long time.

To some of you reading this, it might seem strange? How can you be happy with this David? Your PSA is in the mid-thirties?

The thing is I'm stable, and I'm asymptomatic.

Not sure what else to say? We returned to KC and got on with our lives. I played disc golf yesterday and today and we spent Easter in a house full of family!

HI, Dave,

May 9th sounds good to me.  I'll be there and watch you guys to get the hang of it.  May start myself if it's not to physically challenging.  I've got my daughter's wedding 2 weeks after this and I don't need a bad back or a broken neck while I'm trying to write the checks to the minister, string quartet, caterer,etc.

nono That just wouldn't do.  Glad to hear things went well in Texas and am looking forward to meeting you.
