Somebody knows Dr Kim's Intrafascial Robotic Prostatectomy?

Somebody knwos Dr. Kim, surgeon at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey? Somebody had heard from Intrafascial Robotic Prostatectomy? I've learn he reach 90% sucessfull ED free prostatectomy sparing nerves, and better results in urinary continence. It's a reliable information? Please tell me about that and about him. Sorry for my english

Never heard of this guy, so I looked him up. Here is a link:

This is a news release rather than an academic article, so you can't tell how accurate the claims are. IE, how many patients in the study, what were their conditions, was it a randomized study with controls. As a non-surgeon, I'm not even sure if what he does is really new, compared to, for example, what my doctor did.

The story says he has done "over 450 robotic prostatectomies". While that's not bad, it's also not that impressive. Many of us had surgeons who have performed over 1000 prostatectomies, whether robotic or not.

Found some more background info:

Here's an article "Intrafascial versus extrafascial abdominal hysterectomy: effects on urinary urge incontinence". Seems to have a positive effect for women. Dated 2004. The concept, which I can't claim to understand, of intrafascial vs extrafacial, seems to be of benefit to women. A fascia in general is sort of a sheet of tissue, so I guess the idea is how do you treat the fascia when performing the surgery.

Here's one "Potency Preserving Cystectomy With Intrafascial Prostatectomy for High Risk Superficial Bladder Cancer". March 2008. Very good results reported.

Still haven't been able to figure out if Intrafascial Prostatectomy is commonly done, or is specific to Dr. Kim of New Jersey. Neither of the articles above was authored by him.

Dr Kim was my doc!  Had Robotic sugery December 2007 - EXCELLENT results, no ED issues, no incontinence.  I really liked the staff at RWJ and of course him too.  As I recall, I was his 397th procedure, so he has a lot of experience.  At the time he was the only certified doc at RWJ, so he has a full schedule.  I am only one data point.
