I just read that the cost of a round of provenge treatment will be 60-80 thousand dollars. Wall street is hedginging its bets that 1 billion will be spent the first year in the U.S. alone. What a load of crap.

It just proves my point that there is no incentive to cure cancer when the big money is in treating it.

This deeply saddens me. My heart hurts when people have to make life and death decisions based on their ability to pay. Great quality health care should be available to all of God's creatures. just my thoughts.

Dale, no rational caring person would disagree with those sentiments, I certainly agree, but we both know that the availability of health care is not fairly dispersed around the world. Many here in the US just assume its some birthright to have health insurance, wide choices of doctors, hospitals, and treatment options, and in other places in the world, they can't even supply bandages or IV fluids.

You are so right David. I do missionary work in the most remote regions of Haiti and it is so sad to see the lack of health care in our world. At least I know there is work to be done. Thanks for your reply. I am working on some things right now that I hope will further aid those without healthcare.
