Completed Biopsy Today

Well I just got back from the Dr. Completed the Biopsy, they took 12 samples. PSA down from 2.0 to 1.85 Lump on left side gone, now a small one on the right and he said I had c alcification around the prostrate Not sure what this all means Walt

The case of the moving lump sounds more like a case of inflammation (perhaps due to infection) than cancer. Calcification has no direct connection to PCa but could also be the result of inflammation (or just age.)

So, overall I would take these as encouraging words. Now the seemingly endless wait for the results ...

Forgot to add:

As I understand it, calcification is the prostate's response to anything that "annoys" it. Calcification by itself is rarely harmful since it appears as tiny particles spread around the prostate. (I think of an oyster making little pearls) Since it can be caused by so many things, it is not a marker for cancer.
