CT Scan Update - some good news at last

Late this afternoon, the nurse of my GP called and said they got the results back from the CT scan a week ago.  She said it was all clear, and the nodule (last year they called it a tumor) was just normal calcification from aging and nothing to be concerned about.  She said my dr. said that it would require no further study or testing in the future.

What a relief guys, feel like I just got one of the swords cutdown from hanging over my head.

My worse fear was the old porocarcinoma finally made its way back into my lungs.

Just wanted to share some good news.

Les, its not even up for debate or discussion if the number has risen even by .01 or .02. I am not going to blow my best window of cure with the salvage RT by waiting it out. Not a good scenerio for "watchful waiting" in my opinion. Many feel that if it gets over .20, the chance of it doing any good long term is slim. Least from my research.

Still possible it was a short term bounce, because we are dealing with such minute trace amounts of PSA at this point, or even residual non-cancerous tissue, after all, my surgeon wasn't able to reach and do everything he wanted to on my right side, due to size restrictions and other complications, and gambled that all the PC was on the left side, which the pathology report did confirm at the time. Perhaps a long shot, but at least possible.

If it stays at .10, then I would probably agree to wait and recheck in another 6 to 8 weeks, I hope that logic makes sense.

Thanks David, Yes I am looking forward to that name change myself.  Perhaps I should stop rubbing the crystal ball, and start rubbing something else !

That is great news. Worrying abput PCa is bad enough. I'm glad to see you posting again even if it is only for one day. I hope that your 6 week PSA test will return back to the <.1 range so you can get rid of the second sword hanging over your head.
