Guys I often thought that the hollow feeling we have after prostate surgery is akin to loosing a finger or toe. You know something should be there but it isn't. Well now that I am 18 months out from surgery, that empty, hollow feeling between my hips is gone for the most part. At the same time that feeling diminished, sexual feeling started coming back. i can only assume it is the nerves slowly healing or my brain is getting use to the missing prostate.

I had my gallbladder removed and I never missed it in the least so I feel sure this is a solid observation.

You know, I never considered it hollow inside. I just pictured in my mind that the space left was immediately filled by the bladder, intestine and other things, so never had any sense of loss or anything about it. I always pictured it as a nasty thing (cancer) being removed. Of course my sexual ability hasn't returned yet, either... turn

I do not have that missing feeling but if I did they gave me a photograph of my prostate with the Path report to remind me what it looked like

I don't know I have a missing feeling but Willie Wonka misses it --- at least I assume he does, he's busy chasing back up there looking for it.

I don't have that missing feeling either. Gosh darn I still have a prostate. I do miss the sexuality so if that counts I do have those missing feelings to.

No "missing" feeling here either.  In fact, but for a few small holes in me from the robot, I couldn't even detect anything had happened.  Until the catheter came out and I experienced the reality of ED.

It made me feel like the little guy was ambushed from behind.  He never had a fighting chance.

I don't miss it at all.  By the time I got to surgery I was beginning to see it as the enemy within.  "How dare you bring that cancer into my body!"  But at least it kept the pee in check and lubed up the plumbing and in that regard I do miss it.

I don't miss it at all, what I miss is the spontaneous erection that it allowed to have.

I never thought of missing it at all. To be honest, until I started getting PSA tests at age 50, never ever thought about a prostate, let alone my own, and until I had my first biopsy at age 55, never worried about it.

Gall Bladder, lost that at age 28 to a severe case of pancreatitis. Had it removed in the old days with about an 8 inch ragged scar in my lower regions. Don't miss that either, keeps me from wanting to eat too much fried or spicy food, even to this day.
