Aw, bummer man, sorry but I gotta give ya a downer- discussion of medical pot is a violation of Forum rules. Sorry, I don't make the rules, the owner does... Everyone can read the link, but let's not get a thread going here. ok? So before a big discussion breaks out about MM, here it is:

I'm a boomer and almost without exception guys that I've worked with over the years that indulged often were unproductive, unmotivated and often plain dumb. Same goes for over-indulgence of alcohol. Sorry James, I've seen what consumption of that stuff (and other so-called-recreationals) and alcohol does to productivity, and not only at work.

No way can you compare what alcohol does to the "evil" weed. If it was effective against PCA then I should never have had it to begin with. I drink very little but have always been a pot head. A very productive pothead too Mikey.. Show me any mental disorders that are based on smoking.

James this seems a valid article and the discussion of cabbinoids is on topic as much as lycopene selenium and other substances. But censor if you must that will remind me once again along with this being such a prosurgical site why I stopped posting here. Although I do look in every now and then. But to see those with low risk PCa being persuaded into choosing radical surgery I still find very depressing. So hi all to all those who still remember me Well at least until this thread gets the old HW censorship hammer to fall on it.

Fellows , again I want to state its the Owners Rules that state no discussion of medical pot. If Peter doesn't want the discussion, he has good reasons for it and that's good enough for me. I, along with doting and Tony volunteer to moderate this group as service to the members who depend on it for their various reasons. Part of the responsibility of being a moderator and supporting the members is to help keep the Rules of the owner of this site. Whether you agree or disagree with any of them, you should have read them before first posting, and your continued posting is an acknowledgement of your willing to follow his rules. If someone gets dinged for a rules violation, it isn't censoring, it isn't personal (unless you make it so in your own mind) , it's keeping the rules that we all agreed to. If you think it's censoring, then consider that if we don't have rules in any group, the same group will quickly dissolve into chaos as individuals try to push their agendas. Maybe I was raised in Mayberry, but the world I live in asks me to be thankful for the blessings of this site, for the work of its moderators and for each of our members who come here for info, shared experiences and fellowship. To be blamed for 'censoring' is to be blamed for trying to make this forum one that everyone can feel comfortable in and can feel like they can share their feelings, needs and such without fear of being mistreated. I am proud to say that I will continue that task until I feel the need to move on or am fired by Peter...

I must agree and support James on this...the rules are the rules...

But, realziggy...glad to you have you stop in.  I have missed your posts and wondered how you were doing.  How about a TFT update...your personal status and the protocol?  As far as I know, you were the only one on this forum who had taken that route and your perspective on that is missed  (at least I miss it...LOL).

I see the article as not relating to medicial marijuana usgage which is highly contraversial. Until such a time that this is recognized by the medical community it will stay contraversial. I have seen studies that say that canniboids (extracts) can help medically, but again, like suppliments they are not proven and factual and very short of qualified random study trials. I fully recognize the intent of the post here is valid discussion, and know that our Admin has decided to remove medicinal "pot" threads with no bad feelings towards the poster. So no one would be held or viewed differently.

I'm surprised this thread is still up. For those who asked about my PCa status I'll repeat it. Sorry my sig is not updated I wasn't planning on posting here again after reporting the new developments last spring, and truthfully I forgot how to update it. I had a 12 needle biopsy last April all negative. My PSA I think was like .50 I forgot. But it was fine being I still have most of a working prostate left. Only a small section was frozen. Now I just go in for an annual PSAs and DREs. Can it reoccur? Of course but for now life is back to normal.

Purgatory I'm sorry to have read of your recent problems you really have been through hell. That said when I left I did say thgis is a wonderful site for those with advanced PCA and back then I left it had evolved more into that. Presently I'm not sure what it's like here. I look in just occasionally. That said I had to leave because I became more and more depressed and less able to hold my tongue to all those who were vowing for radical surgery with low risk PCA. Some of course less riskier than others. Yes most of you think you support all treatments equally but you don't. It's always well if I elect radiation now I can't use it for salvage later. when in truth most who need salvage treatment after surgery wouldn't have had it gland contained anyway. That's one persuasion prevalent here and has always been. Then of course are those who just have to have it out of them now!!! As if all cancer is the same or that all PCa is the same, it isn't. I just couldn't hold my tongue any more for those who are lets say 60ish on up where in all likelihood with low numbers would die of something else before the PCa got them. Like I said I'm not talking about those with advanced PCa. Hell I'm not sure my treatment will prolong my life and if I had to do it again I may well have chose active surveillance, but I digress. Thus I close with those here or in the future arriving with common low risk pCa do you really want to risk loss of continence be it for months or ever, ED problems which if married or serious relationships can have disastrous effects on some of them for what in reality my just be an extreme paranoid reaction to anxiety? Like I always said when I was regular here take your time on deciding on a treatment, there are no do overs. for my final post I will include a link to my Urological Oncologist just so some of you may see there are other options than radical ones or just watching. http://alprostate.com/default.aspx

One more thing what's wrong about talking about medical marijuana on a cancer site? It would help some here with chemo like it does for those with other cancers. There's a few states like mine where it's becoming more legal and active. I think it's around 10 states that have voted for medical marijuana. I may be wrong on the number. So I can see stores here that sell it with a prescription but can't talk about it on this site??? Oh the wacky politically correct medically incorrect world of Healing Well. Another reason I'll be gone now. Bye guys think twice if you have low risk PCa. Anxiety is easier or at least more pleasant to live with than pads and waking up in a hospital bed elderly.. I think its important to remember that this is Peter's web site, his investment, his reputation, etc. Our fine moderators, of which I was a former for a short period, are doing and saying what they should say. They have a responsibility to protect Peter's interest. It's his game and his rules.

I agree with James, our esteemed moderator, there is no surpression going on here. He could have justly shut down the thread right from the beginning, but is trying to be tolerate in this situation.
