Dinner with Purgatory (David) from my viewpoint

WARNING; DISCLOSURE; THIS IS A TOUCHY FEEL GOOD POST AND HAS NO MEDICAL INFORMATION IN IT.

Hi guys,

Well I am back in the land of the mouse and have recouped from the trip. Got in about 4am Monday and catching up on my sleep.

Sure did miss the folks at HW while I was gone. But the mountains of middle TN, when you are hijacking an unsecured linksys wifi, aren't the best for net connections.

I have read the post from David about our dinner and your responses.

My dinner with he and his wife was everything I expected, hoped for and more. All of us here are supportive of one another and we try to convey that with our words from the heart. We do it quite well I think. But there is another dimension that is added when you get the chance to sit down and break bread with someone.

Dinner with David and Peggy was truly the pleasure of my wife and I. You can hear and read someone's words but you don't truly get the impact until you look them in the eye as they are being said.

You guys need to know that David is a truly STRONG individual. He is passionate in his support for his PCa brothers and the HW site.

My wife freely joined in on the conversations and came away feeling much more involved in the process. She now really understands how each of us can forge the bounds that we do by talking to our brothers through HW. She admitted that this is something she wishes she had with her cancer. Sadly even HW does not have a forum for Multiple Myeloma.

Each of us need to try to meet our fellow brothers when we can. I can attest to the fact that it is good for the soul. Even our greeting was heartfelt. It was immediately the handshake and man hug with the other arm that seemed to be entirely appropriate.

I look forward to our gathering in February even more now. There are many of you that I would like to shake hands with. Hopefully many of you will be able to attend.

So thank you David for the 3 hours of your time for dinner. And thank you HW for being here for me.

Thanks from the heart, Bro. Sonny. We are still talking about your visit this past Sunday. Even my 82 year old mother asked me how it went and what I thought of you guys. Even though we live in an age of amazing instant means of communications, its still nice to see and touch. Sometimes, when there are conflicts and spats here on HW, a lot of the reason I think is because we aren't talking one to one with our brothers, you can't see expression or the other guy's eyes, you can't feel the tone in his/her voice.

All I know, is that you uplifted me, both with your journey, and your lovely wife's amazing journey. She looked and sounded wonderful, wouldn't know a thing wrong on the outside.

Glad you got home safely. No place like home after a road trip.
