i recently had an open prostatectomy done on Oct 12 2009 following a rise in my psa from 3.7 and then to 4.7 and then back to 4.3 following a round of antibiotics-----a pre-operative biopsy revealed 3 + 4, 3 out of 12, 30%, 15%, and 40%, all discontinuous-------------------the post-op biopsy revealed 3 + 3=6, clean margins, all good except for a slight invasion of the seminal vesicle by a grade 3. everything else was good. the urologist doesn't seem too concerned by this slight invasion. he says we will wait and see what the PSA shows in mid-Dec. any reactions would be welcome.

You need to have that prostate pathology confirmed by another pathologist. I recommend Jonothan Epstein at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He is considered one of the top pathologists in the business. Seminal vesical invasion is a very serious diagnosis, and you want that confirmed as it will stage your cancer at pT3b. Do keep a positive attitude. There is plenty to prepare for, but a good plan will help you greatly.
